Additional Funds Passed for School Building Project at Town Meeting
Voters passed the motion for additional funds needed for the school building project on Monday night.
Residents gathered at North Reading High School for Special Town Meeting and voted to appropriate $15.5 million in additional funds for the school building project.
The Board of Selectmen and School Committee held a joint meeting last Monday night to announce the new school building project total of $122,652,133.
Residents are also asked to vote at a Special Election on March 22. Residents can vote at St. Theresa's Parish between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. A yes vote is needed Friday for the additional funds.

Thank you town meeting for the overwhelming support tonight. Please, make sure that everyone gets out to vote Friday, There is still one big step to go to keep this project on track. Proud to be a Hornet transplant!

Happy with the turn out and although direct democracy is at times frustrating (and long), I am happy that people stayed through the night to have their voices heard and votes counted. Thank you to the SSBC for their Herculean efforts.

So the very Republican North Reading electorate wants to rocket taxes into the stratosphere because they get some goodies. Hypocrites.
