That's funny. To censor is now to be reputable? Not many are pushing for bans here. Once publicRead More awareness is raised, pit bulls will be unwanted and unwelcome by all but the dumbest in society.

The more people I meet, or the more evil I see people do, I'd say I dont like people so much as aRead More whole, but I love my dog. I wouldn't own a pit just for the homeowners insurance upcharge. I'm not an expert so I don't know enough to make a definitive factual statement. I am however, an objective observer and troubleshooter as my god given talent and success in my job. Lots of us see these horrific stories. The media does focus and sensationalize on a dog bite or attack more if a pit is involved. It is a legitimate question to ask as to whether this breed has impulsive aggressive tendencies as a part of its genetic make up or characteristic behavior, such as beagles have a tendency to bolt and wander if they get out and run free. What actually brings that out seems to be the bone of contention here. The problem with these awesomely powerful dogs is that when they go full throttle, they just do not stop, and the the incredible jaw strength is hard to defend against in a local, neighborly setting. I respect their tenacity, and when they react according to their natural, genetic response when they feel provoked or justified in the well documented dog / family pack mentality to defend that pack or territory, they are doing nothing wrong in the sense of who they are. But when they make a bad decision, really bad things happen. Lowlifes that encourage and train aggressiveness around this trait are despicable. I hate Mike Vick and hope he meets an extremely horrific and long, painful death sooner than later. Good and loving owners cannot make excuses if their wonderful family pet goes apeshit and hurts or kills a perceived threat that was, in fact, not a threat. I know several people who have pits as family dogs and they are just as loyal and loving as any other. I also have neighbors who have been either themselves or their dogs attacked, unprovoked, while just walking their non pit breed on the public streets around the neighborhood.

Mad as hell... July 21, 2014 at 07:45 am
Any dog can go crazy wanting to attack another dog but as I've recounted here many times when aRead More pitbull attacked me and my leashed dog Max. Max was no small dog...over 100 lbs at the time...and was ready to rumble with this little bitch pitbull but I saw the futility in it. Without going too much into detail let's just say the little bitch died from it's injuries a few months later while suffering the whole time getting there. Her owner was a dirt bag who didn't take it to the vet after I cracked and broke several of the little bitch's ribs when I launched it through the air with a swift but solid shin bone kick to the ribs. I can still see it in my mind's eye how it flew through the air a good 15' before landing on the road and spinning on it's side into the ditch.

They have the instinct they are born with to attack. It's in their blood. How many more peopleRead More need to get hurt or die because all these supposed pit owners were not raising them well? Leave the pit bulls alone. What a hateful person. You might as well be writing about the blacks, orRead More the Jews, or whatever, but this is supposed to be OK because they are dogs and can't defend themselves? Shame on Patch for allowing this crap to pass as a 'blog'.

Oh pulleese, the point is that just humans stereotype Jews or blacks or Asians or Hispanics orRead More whatever, this blog writer is stereotyping. Yes, there are aggressive pit bulls just as there are aggressive Maltese and Goldendoodles. It's the owners who make the dogs bad and then when are made bad, they have the ability to cause damage because of their strength, size and jaws. I can't quite figure out what the agenda of this blog writer is .... maybe he has a dog fighting business and he figures if everyone hates all pitbulls, then he will be allowed to do his dirty business. Anyway it is appalling and offensive.

I know people that have adopted pitbulls that were being neglected and have nothing but admirationRead More for them doing that and saving the dog from suffering But i have no idea why anyone would seek out that breed or (even worse breed them). A pit bull saving a child is nice. But it's irrelevant. Nobody's saying that every pit bull onRead More earth has human flesh stuck in its teeth. What sane people are thinking and saying, after 40 years of playing guinea pig for the pit bull owners who want to own a powerful, violent breed as if it was a gentle, kind one, is that there are hundreds of dog breeds and types whose track record for killing humans is zero. So why keep rolling the dice? There is nothing special about pit bulls except for their violence. You want a chunky dog with a big head and not much brains, you can get a lab. Is one breed really worth all the pain? Look, dogs saving people!
