I'm hooked on golf! Are you?

Before this summer, the closest I ever thought I’d come to playing golf was watching “Happy Gilmore”. After one lesson with a friend who just so happens to be an instructor, I was hooked!

I always figured that you had to have good flexibility and biomechanics to have a proper swing but now I know it even more – because I could feel it! To bring your arms up (without bending the elbows) and then finish the swing with that photo-finish look is much harder than it seems. Since I don’t go through those motions often, I could feel the soreness in my upper back and shoulders and definitely in the right side of my low back. As a chiropractor, I don’t just take an Advil and put up with the pain.

To prevent the soreness and improve my swing, I started doing sport-specific stretches before and after playing. I have also been getting chiropractic adjustments more often to restore my body back to balance. I know the benefits of a properly aligned spine, but I never experienced the dramatic benefits of chiropractic with golf. I have so much more flexibility and can even out-swing experienced golfers!
