North Reading Residents featured in Bishop Fenwick High School’s production of “Grease”

Bishop Fenwick High School is pleased to present their Spring Musical, Grease, on March 14, 15 and 16th.

For over 40 years, Grease has proved that a musical love story, bursting with slick hairstyles, young romance, rock’n’roll, teenage angst, and cool cars is timeless and universal.

A cast of Fenwick students from all over the greater North Shore area will bring the 50’s back to life on the stage at Bishop Fenwick High School.  Featured in the cast are North Reading residents Michela Prisco as a member of the ensemble and Nick Tambini as Danny Zuko.

“The cast is all having so much fun together– including several students who have never performed on stage before, as well as faculty and staff taking on cameo roles.” says producer Laurel Weatherby, who is also an Art Teacher at the school. “It’s the perfect musical for high school students . . . playing high school students! It really shows that although the clothes and the slang may change, much of being a teenager is the same today as it was in the 50's!"

The high school love story, written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, has thrilled audiences since breaking out on Broadway in 1972. Based on Jacobs' own experiences as an adolescent, Grease became a huge hit around the world thanks to the hit film starring Olivia Newton John and John Travolta. The show features all the unforgettable songs from the hit film including ‘You’re The One That I Want’, ‘Grease Is The Word’, ‘Summer Nights’, ‘Hopelessly Devoted to You’, ‘Sandy’, ‘Greased Lightnin’ and many more.

Grease will be performed at Bishop Fenwick High School, 99 Margin Street, Peabody, MA. Performance times are Friday March 14th at 7pm, Saturday March 15th at 7pm and Sunday March 16th at 2pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens and can be purchased at the door or online at www.fenwick.org/arts.
