Please consider attending this meeting: the proposed gas pipeline can affect North Reading property values, drinking water, wetlands, etc. See above petition..

I hope that there is a large showing for the meeting. It is so important that they know that we are opposed to this pipeline coming in. We already deal with one easement from National Grid and that is MORE than enough. There are historical artifacts and a vernal pool out there in addition to the facts that Annemarie listed. We all want them to go somewhere else! Patty

I have been reading about this, and I want to learn more. However, I cannot help but wonder how much NIMBY-ism it is? I hear calls from the National Republican's to begin work on the Keystone pipe line immediately, that party supports drilling in the Arctic national wildlife refuge (drill-baby-drill). Now is our State Rep. Mr Jones, ranking Republican, supporting this petition against a pipeline through his own district? Clearly the plank of the national party to reduce dependence on foreign oil by increasing domestic production is only valid when it is somewhere else. I wonder what the local head of the Republican Party, our new selectman, stands on this issue. I suppose we will see at TM.

Nofrackedgasinmass.org - A very informative website regarding the fracked gas and proposed pipelines... There is a statewide petition with over 7,000 signatures to ban fracked gas in mass..
