Report: Through Facebook, North Reading Man Finds Kidney Transplant Match

North Reading resident Eddie Beatrice is scheduled to receive a kidney transplant on April 2, after finding a donor through a Facebook post of all places, WBZ reports.

Beatrice had left rotator cuff surgery in October 2011 and contracted a bacterial infection that ultimately shut down his kidneys, WBZ reports, requiring the transplant.

While researching kidney transplants online, he came across a post by Kelly Wright on the Living Kidney Donor Network Facebook page, in which Wright said she was donating her kidney to an anonymous recipient, WBZ reports.
