North Reading Reverend in Rome

Reverend Jonathan Gaspar is in Rome until the election of the new pope.

Rev. Jonathan Gaspar is a North Reading High School graduate and Priest Secretary to Cardinal Seán O'Malley. Gaspar has been in Rome since Tuesday and will stay until the new pope is elected.

He celebrated Mass at the altar and tomb of Blessed John Paul II and at the Church of Santa Maria della Vittoria with Cardinal O'Malley before O'Malley entered the Conclave to elect a new Pope, according to Gaspar's Facebook page.

"Did you know the Pope has a tailor?" Gaspar asked on his Facebook page. "These guys have created three different size cassocks for the next Pope who will wear the shoes of the fisherman."
