Dig Into Reading This Summer!

Dig Into Reading, the Children's Summer Reading Program, kicks off Monday, June 24, from 5-7PM in the Activity Room. And that's just the beginning of a great summer of reading-related activities!

Youth Services Librarian Emma Weiler invites kids to join the annual summer reading program, Dig Into Reading.

We are kicking off our summer reading program on Monday, June 24th.  Come by the library Activity Room between 5:00 and 7:00PM and sign up for summer reading.  The first 50 children to sign up will receive a gift certificate to Fuddruckers, good for a free kids’ meal.  While you’re here, help us make murals, which will be used to decorate the Children's Room.

We are very excited to have some returning performers.

On Tuesday, June 25th at 6:30PM the Hampstead Stage will be performing The Secret Garden.  If you saw their performance of A Christmas Carol last winter, you know how wonderful this group is. This is a performance suitable for all ages.  Bring your kids! Bring your mom!

On Tuesday, July 9th at 6:30PM John Porcino will be returning to perform for us his silly and fun blend of music and stories.  Good for all ages. His visit is sponsored by a grant from the North Reading Cultural Council.

On Tuesday, July 30th at 10:30AM, we welcome back the Museum of Science with Animal Invaders!

On Thursday, August 8th at 2:00PM we are excited to be hosting Team Magic with Gregory McAdams, who will be performing a kid-friendly magic show!

We are again teaming with the Topsfield Fair.  Kids who read 10 hours by August 9th will qualify for a free pass to the Topsfield Fair as well as two ride tickets and a coupon good for a free hotdog and drink.

Just a quick question... Isn't admission free for kids under 12 at Topsfield Fair???
Helena Minton June 24, 2013 at 04:08 PM
Hi Cristina, Good question. All children in grades K-6 are invited to participate in the "Read and Win" program sponsored by the Topsfield Fair, which provides incentives for kids who read 10 hours by August 9th. Admission to the Topsfield Fair is free for children under 8. With the special ticket, those over 8 will receive free admission. All children will receive 1 hot dog and drink; 2 ride tickets and 1 "Read and Win" ribbon. This has been a very popular reading incentive program for the past two years. Helena
