Summertime and Reading Is Fun

One of the most popular activities in the Children’s Room this summer is reading to a timer.  Kids choose one of the whimsical timers --in the shape of a lady bug, a penguin, an apple, a chicken, or a panda -set it for 15 minutes and read. When the timer rings they get to pick a “microprize.” Kids also enjoy  looking for Chippie, the stuffed chipmunk, who hides somewhere in the room each week.

Dig Into Reading activities continue with Lego Club at 4PM on August 6 and Team Magic, with Greg McAdams, at 2PM on Thursday, August 8.  The reading program officially ends with an Ice Cream Social Thursday, August 15 at 5:30PM.

Have you entered one of the weekly raffles at the Circulation Desk? Prizes still to come include, gift certificates to Ryer’s, Brissonte, Moynihan’s Lumber and more.
