Two Cooks Write Books

On Thursday, October 10 at 7PM, Karen Till Vitale and Nancy Parsons will introduce their new suspense novels, written during the 2012 National Novel Writing Month project. The program takes place at the Flint Memorial Library, 147 Park Street, North Reading.

Karen Till Vitale’s novel, set on the coast of Maine, is titled RETRObution. Nancy Parsons' is Two-Thirds of a Ghost and it features a ghost writer as its main character.  These are the second novels for both authors. In 2011, Karen Vitale published a young adult novel, My Grandmother Talks to Herself in the Mirror (But It’s No Reflection on Me).  Parsons published The Dog that Managed Hedge Funds in 2012.

Both authors, who are enthusiastic home cooks, included favorite recipes in their novels. Discover more about these writers and the memorable characters they’ve created, and learn more about NaNoWriMo, when writers aim to complete a novel (50,000 words) during November. Vitale and Parsons invite the audience to join their conversation.
Each will read excerpts from her book.

There will be an opportunity to purchase signed copies of their books, as well a chance to taste refreshments made from recipes in RETRObution.

The event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Please call 978-664-4942 for further information.
