The LNR Wrestlers Continue Unbeaten Streak

The Lynnfield/North Reading Wrestling team remains undefeated, 18-0, with decisive wins this last week.

On Wednesday the “Black and Gold” traveled to Watertown and were victorious posting a 44-9 final score.  Joe Morse (113 lbs/decision), Scott McGrath (120 lbs/forfeit), Eric Kerr (126 lbs/decision), Lucas Pascucci (132 lbs/fall), Max Whyman (138 lbs/decision), Dominic Monzione (145 lbs/decision), Joey Wise (152 lbs/fall), Austin Bradley (182 lbs/fall), and Brandon Troisi (195 lbs/fall)

On Saturday the Pioneer-Hornets honored the North Reading seniors at NRHS prior to hosting a quad met against Triton, Melrose and Southwick.  The LNR wrestlers defeated  Triton 48-24 with Mike Farrelly (285 lbs/decision), Aaron Gautreau (106 lbs/forfeit), Joe Morse (113 lbs/decision), Scott McGrath (120 lbs/forfeit), Eric Kerr (126 lbs/fall), Dominic Monzione (145 lbs/decision), Joey Wise (152 lbs/forfeit), Brandon Troisi (195 lbs/fall), and Tom Arsenault (220 lbs/forfeit) taking their matches.

LNR kept the momentum going by defeating Melrose 45-29 with Morse (fall), McGrath (fall), Kerr (fall), Pascucci (fall), Whyman (fall), D Monzione (decision), Wise (fall) and Arsenault (fall) victorious.

The quad meet wrapped up with a victory over Southwick 60-15 with Kerr, Pascucci, Whyman, D Monzione, Wise, Zach Blacker (160 lbs), Max Robert (170 lbs), Bradley, Troisi, Vitaliy Andrusyshyn (220 lbs) all winning their respective matches by fall.

The LNR wrestling team is now 18-0 with a 4-0 record in the CAL.  This week the team hosts Peabody at Lynnfield HS and will be inducting former wrestlers Richie Falcione, Phil Bishop and Andrew Kibarian into the LNR Wrestling Hall of Fame.  Next Saturday the team travels to Beverly to face the Panthers and Billerica.
