Middlesex Community College Foundation Awards Celebrity Forum Scholarships

The Middlesex Community College Foundation recently awarded scholarships for outstanding academic achievement to 14 Middlesex students at MCC's annual Celebrity Forum.

The Middlesex Community College Foundation recently awarded scholarships for outstanding academic achievement to 14 Middlesex students at MCC’s annual Celebrity Forum.

Miranda Cashman, of Billerica, was awarded the Debra Chemelli-Evans Scholarship. Cashman is a Commonwealth Honors Program student and maintains a 4.0 grade point average (GPA). The Chemelli-Evans Scholarship was established in memory of the daughter of William Chemelli, member and former president of the MCC Board of Trustees.

The following 13 Middlesex students were awarded MCC Foundation Celebrity Forum Scholarships:

Thomas Babaletos, of Dracut, maintains a 3.75 GPA, and plans to study communications at UMass Lowell in the fall.

Julie Dale, of North Reading, maintains a 3.84 GPA at Middlesex. She plans to attend UMass Lowell in the fall and study clinical laboratory science.

Gabrielle Davis, of Dracut, graduated in May with a Liberal Arts & Sciences degree. She was a Commonwealth Honors Program student, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for two-year colleges, and maintained a 3.98 GPA. Davis plans to attend UMass Lowell in the fall.

Kelley DeCola, of Waltham, is a Commonwealth Honors Program student who maintains a 3.97 GPA. A member of Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for two-year colleges, DeCola plans to attend Merrimack College in the fall.

Timothy Judge, of Lowell, is a Commonwealth Honors Program student who maintains a 3.96 GPA. His major program of study is Liberal Arts & Sciences with a World Languages Option, and he will be returning to Middlesex this fall.

Calida Khut, of Lowell, is a Commonwealth Honors Program student who maintains a  3.98 GPA. A member of Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for two-year colleges, she will be returning to Middlesex this fall.

Dennis Murphy, of Wilmington, is a Commonwealth Honors Program student who maintains a 4.0 GPA. His major program of study is Liberal Arts & Sciences with a Global Studies Concentration, and he will be returning to Middlesex this fall.

Palak Patel, of Woburn, has maintained a 3.94 GPA in MCC’s Liberal Arts & Sciences degree program. Patel plans to attend UMass Lowell in the fall and study exercise physiology.

Karen Pruy, of Waltham, maintains a 4.0 GPA, is a Commonwealth Honors Program student, and a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for two-year colleges.  Her major program of study is Liberal Arts & Sciences, and she will be returning to MCC in the fall.

Cynthia Sao, of Lowell, maintains a 3.77 GPA. She plans to attend UMass Lowell in the fall and study computer science.

Devon Schneider, of Billerica, maintains a 3.91 GPA and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for two-year colleges. In the past, Schneider was also awarded MCC Foundation Merit and Goodwin scholarships, and plans to attend UMass Lowell in the fall.

Maclane Walsh, of Westford, is a Commonwealth Honors Program student who maintains a 3.96 GPA. Enrolled in MCC’s Business Administration Program, Walsh plans to attend UMass Amherst in the fall.

Stephanie Young, of Townsend, maintains a 3.92 GPA, is a Commonwealth Honors Program student, and a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for two-year colleges. She plans to attend Fitchburg State University in the fall.
