Hornets Season Ends with Overtime Stunner

For forty minutes, North Reading matched defending champions Watertown pass for pass, shot for shot, and stop for stop. The Hornets offense threatened early and often, the defense allowed few chances, and Billy Brandano was a wall in goal. But just 28 seconds into overtime, when what seemed like a routine ball got loose on the goal line and nudged in, the Raiders were headed back to the MIAA Division 3 North finals while the Hornets were headed home. Still, with an overall record for the year of 13-6-1, the hometown boys have every reason to be proud of a great season!
