LNR Wrestlers Capture 2nd Place at MIAA Division 3 State Championships - Next Stop the Tsongas

The Lynnfield-North Reading Wrestling team captured second place at the Division III State Individual Championships, which is the highest place finish for the team ever.  The tournament, which hosted over 50 teams, was held in Foxboro on Feb 21-22.  The Pioneer-Hornets scored 97.5 points and placed 6 of its 8 qualifying wrestlers.  This represents the highest place finish and the most place finishers in the history of North Reading or Lynnfield wrestling, prior to and during the co-op program.

Place finishers were Joe Morse (4th/106 lbs), Eric Kerr (1st/126 lbs) Max Whyman (8th/132 lbs), Dominic Monzione (8th/145 lbs), Joey Wise (4th/152 lbs) and Tom Arseneault (1st/220 lbs).

Div. III State Champs Eric Kerr and Tom Arseneault as well as Joe Morse and Joey Wise now move to the MIAA All State Tournament which will be held on Feb 28 and March 1 at the Tsongas Arena where they will face the top place finishers in Div. I and Div. II.  The top six place finishers from this tournament will compete in the New England Championships the following weekend in Providence, RI.
