Obituary: E. Dorothy Jeanes, Member of Trinity Evangelical Church

E.  Dorothy  Jeanes, 90, of Reading and formerly of North Reading, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013,  at the LaheyHospital Medical Center in Burlington, after a brief illness.

She was raised and attended public school in North Reading.

She was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1941, a graduate of Providence Bible Institute in 1945, with a Teacher’s Certificate and also received a bachelor’s degree from Barrington College in 1965.

Dorothy was a missionary to Japan for 35 years with SEND International. After retiring from the mission field, she taught English as a second language at the Park Street Church in Boston.

Dorothy was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Church in North Reading and was a member of several Missionary Societies. She also attended Park Street Church in Boston, who supported her work in the mission field for many years.

She wrote and published her biography at the age of 82.

Family members include her many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Trinity Evangelical Church, 105 Haverhill St., North Reading on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m.  Interment will be held prior to the Memorial Service at 10 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are by Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading.
