Obituary: Nancy Goddard, Retired North Reading Art Teacher

Nancy (Deering) Goddard, 87, of North Reading and formerly of Malden, died on Wednesday, Nov.27, 2013 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.

She was wife of the late Kenneth L. Goddard.

Mrs. Goddard was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1944, and Mass College of Art, Class of 1948. 

She was an art teacher for many years in the North Reading Public Schools.

Mrs. Goddard was a North Reading resident for 58 years. She was an active member of the Union Congregational Church, North Reading Historical and Antiquarian Society and Waterboro Historical Society. 

She was survived by her son, Lawrence S. Goddard and his wife Sandra of Waterboro, ME, and her daughter, Marcia Goddard Richter and her husband Robert of North Reading; three grandchildren, Allison Galluzzo and her husband Michael of Woburn, Leigh Ferrante and her husband Mark of Stoneham, and Kerry Tully and her husband, Nicholas of South Hampton, NH; five great grandchildren, Monica, Sofia and Julia Galluzzo and Bruno Ferrante and Nicholas Tully.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Union Congregaionl Church, 148 Haverhill St. Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading, on Monday, Dec. 2 from 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Union Congregational Church, 148 Haverhill St., North Reading, MA 01864
