A former North Reading man has pleaded guilty to distributing heroin.

David Sanchez, 37, formerly of Chestnut Street, pleaded guilty in Middlesex Superior Court and was sentenced to 30 months in prison, according to North Reading Police.

“The plea agreement was the result of charges filed after a lengthy investigation by the North Reading Detective Unit into drug distribution in the Chestnut Street neighborhood,” said North Reading Police.

Police sought an arrest warrant for Sanchez, who lived at 20 Chestnut St., in August 2012 after an investigation.

In April of that year, he was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony, receiving stolen property over $250, wanton destruction of property over $250 and attempt to commit a crime (breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony). Police arrested Sanchez at that time after a series of break-ins.
