Police Log: Alleged Shoplifter Tries to Steal Phone on Christmas Eve

Monday, Dec. 23
At 6:33 a.m., police received a call about a man sleeping in a building vestibule on Main Street. It was the second call about the man in a week. The property manager filled out a no trespass form and police served it to the man.
At 2:48 p.m., police responded to Main Street about a two-car accident. There were no injuries, but both vehicles were towed.

Tuesday, Dec. 24
At 7:18 a.m., a Lowell Road resident reported finding illegal drugs inside a common hallway. Police took the items and notified detectives.
At 2:14 p.m., police summonsed a North Reading man to court and charged him with operating a motor vehicle after his license was suspended and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Police pulled over the man on North Street.

At 4:41 p.m., police responded to Walmart concerning a male who cut a security wire attached to a cell phone and left the store with the phone. Police spoke to the man in front of Marshalls and summonsed him to court for shoplifting more than $100.
