Police Log: North Reading Man Charged with Drunk Driving

The following information was supplied by the North Reading police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Oct. 25

At 8:38 a.m., a Middleton rental car company reported finding one of their cars that was stolen. The employee found it in the Walmart parking lot. Police had the car towed.

At 1:04 p.m., a Glenwood Road resident reported hearing someone banging on a backdoor. Police checked the area, but did not find anyone. Police believe it may have been an attempted burglary.

At 10:07 p.m., police arrested Brian F. Poor, 56, 191 North St., and charged him with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor (second offense). Police responded to Lowell Road and North Street concerning a two-car motor vehicle accident. Police spoke to the drivers and arrested Poor.

Saturday, Oct. 26

At 2:56 p.m., a River Side Drive resident reported that someone removed his hunting tree stand that was on Theresa’s property. He said he has permission to bow hunt on that property from the establishment’s owner. The person wanted the issue logged.

Sunday, Oct. 27

At 6:34 p.m., police received a call after a person stole two cones from the crosswalk at Stop & Shop.
