Police Log: Snow, Ice Cause Problems on Roads

Friday, Jan. 3

At 9:53 a.m., officers helped a motorist out of a snow bank on Main Street.

At 10:26 a.m., police responded to Haverhill and Chestnut streets concerning a motor vehicle accident. A tow truck responded to repair a flat tire.

At 3:05 p.m., a Lowell Road resident reported someone stole medication from him. Police took a report.

At 11:11 p.m., police responded to Chestnut Street after a motor vehicle accident. One vehicle was towed. The accident also knocked over a fire hydrant. Police notified the Fire Department and Department of Public Works.

Saturday, Jan. 4

At 10:15 a.m., police helped a motorist stuck on an embankment on Main Street.

At 10:34 a.m., a Darrell Drive resident reported someone stole two bronze geese. He believed it’s part of an annual prank.

At 10:57 a.m., police responded to a three-car motor vehicle accident on Lowell Road. One motorist fled the scene. Police searched for the car, but was unable to locate the driver. There were no reported injuries.

At 11:12 a.m., police responded to North Street after a two cars slid off the road because of icy conditions. Both vehicles had flat tires. Police notified the Department of Public Works.
