Police: North Reading Man Arrested on Drug Charges

Tuesday, June 17

At 1:06 p.m., a motorist reported a road rage incident on Main Street. She said a man exited his vehicle and punched her car. The man got back into the car and drove away. Police have identified the man and are investigating.

At 2:44 p.m., police arrested Martin P. Finch Jr., 34, 103 Lowell Road, Apt. 207, North Reading, and charged him with larceny more than $250 by false pretense, unlicensed engineering/land surveying and two counts of identity theft. Read more about the case here.

Wednesday, June 18

At 6:46 a.m., police responded to the Thomson County Club Maintenance Barn about newly installed electrical wiring that was stolen from the side of the building. Police are investigating.

At 2:14 p.m., a Walmart employee called police after a shoplifter stole $110 worth of makeup.

At 6:09 p.m., police arrested Donald C. Mahoney Jr., 20, 15 Main St., Apt. 11, North Reading, and charged him with distributing a Class B drug to a minor, possessing a Class D drug with the intent to distribute and a drug violation near a school/park. Police made the arrest after a report of a man with a backpack who may have been selling drugs to skateboarders at Ipswich River Park.

At 9:08 p.m., police received a call from a motorist after a deer struck the side of a van at Pleasant and Elm streets. There was no damage and the deer ran away.

 

Friday, June 20

At 1:18 p.m., a North Reading resident reported identity theft. She said an unemployment debit card was taken out under her maiden name and information.

At 6:20 p.m., a caller reported that her daughter was receiving threatening texts from her boyfriend. Police spoke to the boyfriend.
