Police Warn of Paving Scams

If it's too good to be true, it likely is, North Reading Police remind residents.

North Reading Police is warning residents to be aware of paving and sealcoat scams.

North Reading Police said:

"If someone comes to your house and says that they have left over asphalt/sealcoat from another job that they just want to get rid of, it is a good chance that it is a scam. There is a good chance that the work performed will either be low quality or actually destructive to your property. If the deal seems too good to be true, then it probably is. The people that perpetrate these types of scams tend to prey on the elderly so please take time to share with older parents and neighbors."

Police said to call them if you see anything suspicious. Dial 911 for emergencies and 978 664-3131 for other/non-emergency business.
