Winter Parking Ban Starts on Friday

No overnight parking is allowed on town streets until April 15.

Days are getting shorter, nights are getting colder and the winter parking ban is back. Welcome to winter, North Reading. 

The winter parking ban, which begins Friday, Nov. 15, restricts on-street, overnight parking on North Reading streets. The reason for the ban is to allow for clear roadways in case of snowstorms, which will allow snowplows to clear the streets properly.

The town bylaw calls for:

  • No vehicles shall park in public rights-of-way between Nov. 15 and April 15 from 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. The fine is $25. Cars may also be towed.
  • Parking is prohibited in public rights-of-way during snow operations/emergencies. The fine is $25. Cars may also be towed.
