What Would You Like to See Happen to the Rest of the J.T. Berry Land?

The North Reading Board of Selectmen is exploring the possibility of taking control of the remaining undeveloped J.T. Berry land off Lowell Street.

While a portion of the parcel was turned into Edgewood Luxury Apartments, the other area remains vacant. The Gutierrez Company had purchased the land, but transferred it back to the state two years ago.

North Reading can take control of the land if the town pays a portion of the "sunk costs." Selectman Michael Prisco hopes to have an exact figure from the state this month.

The selectmen are interested in the land because developing the rest of the J.T. Berry would not only mean North Reading would get at least half of the sale price, but the town could also benefit from tax revenue.

If North Reading decides to take control of the land, what would you like to see done with it? Would you like office space, retail space, housing, open space or something entirely different?

Let us know what you would like to see happen to the land in the comments section below.
