North Reading resident Alex Carpenter and the rest of the US Women’s Hockey team will take on Canada at noon Thursday in the Gold Medal game at Sochi, Russia.
The game is a chance for revenge as well as the Gold. Canada beat the Americans 3-2 earlier in the Olympics.
The game will be shown live at noon Thursday on NBC so get those DVRs ready before heading off for work on Thursday. A re-broadcast is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday.

The US team got to the Gold Medal game by crushing Sweden 6-1, including an opening goal by Carpenter. The Americans’ only loss of the Olympics came against the Canadians.
