North Reading's Ryan Fitzgerald Hits the Ice at Bruins Camp

The Boston College hockey player and Boston Bruins draft pick was at Wilmington's Ristuccia Arena for his second development camp.

When Ryan Fitzgerald got the call that he was invited to Boston Bruins development camp for a second straight year, he didn't have to worry about a long commute.

Fitzgerald, a Boston College sophomore and 2013 Bruins draft pick, calls North Reading his home.

On Wednesday, he was just down the road in Wilmington, participating in development camp at Ristuccia Arena for a second straight summer.

Development camps serves as a way for prospects to get some professional reps with the coaching staff, and for players who are already NHL eligible, it can serve as a means to getting a look at a training camp invitation.
