Lassie Star, Original Beatle and Other Celebrities Highlight Pop Culture Expo

Dozens of celebrities will be signing autographs at the Aleppo Shriners Auditorium this weekend.

There’s no need to worry about Timmy being trapped in a well this weekend. He will be meeting fans and signing autographs at the Aleppo Shriners Auditorium in Wilmington.

Jon Provost, who played young Timmy in the classic TV series “Lassie,” will be on hand for the Pop Culture Expo this weekend, as well as a who’s who from movie, TV and cartoon history:

  • Ernie Hudson from Ghostbusters, The Crow and OZ
  • Kristian Nairn and Esme Blanco from Game of Thrones
  • Sam Huntington from Being Human and Veronica Mars
  • Billy West from Futurama and Ren & Stimpy
  • Pete Best, who was The Beatles’ original drummer
  • Parker Stevenson from Hardy Boys and Baywatch
  • Mark Goddard from Lost in Space

Those are just a few of the 30-plus celebrities who will be signing autographs and taking photos with fans. There are also a limited number of VIP packages starting at $149 that include a breakfast or dinner with your favorite celebrity, as well as a VIP “Party with the Stars” at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Woburn on Saturday night. There will also be panels with the stars talking about their careers.

In addition to autographs, vendors will sell pop culture items, antiques and collectible toys. There will also be contests and Bill Plympton, who is known for his couch gags on “The Simpsons,” will present the New England premiere of his new animated film “Cheatin’.”

The event is being run by Antique Roadshow’s Pop Culture Appraiser Gary Sohmers, who has produced more than 1,000 concerts and hundreds of celebrity, collectibles and appraisal events.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 24 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 25. Admission is $15 per day or $25 for a two-day pass if purchased online. Add $5 to tickets at the door. Autographs range in price. See the website for more details.
