Thomson Country Club Applications Now Available, Fees Announced

The pools and tennis courts will be open Memorial Day weekend and Grill 19 should be open in June.

The pools and tennis courts at Thomson Country Club will be open for Memorial Day and applications for membership are now available at Teresa's in Middleton or at the Thomson Country Club Pro Shop, Owner Nick Yebba, Sr. said.

The pool will be open on Memorial Day as well as the tennis courts, which are now being resurfaced. The pool area is being re-fenced and toddler area expanded. Next to the toddler pool they plan to clear the area to install swing sets, slides and other toys for tots to enjoy, Yebba said.

There will be a small kitchen with food available for kids and adults that spend the day swimming. According to Yebba, they will serve light fare including hamburgers, hot dogs, meatballs, tuna rolls and other “nourishing food for the kids.”

Membership applications are available at Teresa's in Middleton or at the Thomson Country Club Pro Shop. The registration fee is $300 regardless of which membership you choose. The yearly membership cost is $1295 per family with swimming lessons included or $1095 for a single membership. If you just want to play tennis, the membership fee is $400. They are still working on building and landscaping the rest of the property, Yebba said. He hopes that Grill 19 will be open in June and Teresa's Prime will open a bit later than that. You will not need a membership for the restaurants, and there is not a minimum monthly spending requirement at either eatery.

Teresa’s Prime will be a "high end, moderately priced restaurant."

"It will feel comfortable and plush, but there will be no $10 potatoes,” he said.

The restaurant will be open four or five days a week for dinner.

Grill 19 will serve lighter fare than Teresa's Prime and will be located in the grill room in the basement adjacent to the pool.

Paul Mayo, who previously worked at the club and North Reading High School Athletic Director Dave Johnson have both been hired to work at Thomson. Mayo will focus on operational aspects of the club and Johnson will focus on events.

"Everything is just moving along," Yebba said.

He went on to say that it was a lot more work than originally anticipated.

"We hope to have a pretty good turnout this year,” Yebba said.
