Police Working with Concord Street Businesses After Traffic Complaints

The police said speeding vehicles and commercial trucks not yielding to oncoming traffic are "two major interrelated traffic problems" in the Concord Street area.

The North Reading Police Department is working with Concord Street businesses after complaints about “unsafe vehicular traffic on Concord Street,” said North Reading Police.

The police said speeding vehicles and commercial trucks not yielding to oncoming traffic are “two major interrelated traffic problems” in the Concord Street area. 

“In an effort to address these traffic related safety concerns, North Reading police officers met with businesses located in the Concord Street area. In speaking with various fleet managers and business representatives, we’ve requested their cooperation by addressing the issues with their respective employees. The local businesses have been receptive to the collaborative effort and have pledged their cooperation.

“The North Reading Police Department will continue to conduct active traffic enforcement of both commercial and private vehicles in the affected area. Please assist us in keeping our local roadways safe for both private and commercial vehicles by heading this message and driving safely. We thank you in advance for your cooperation,” said North Reading Police.
