North Reading Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza Worth the Wait

North Reading waited for years for a return of Fourth of July fireworks. Based on the reaction and cheers, North Reading thought Thursday’s fireworks was well worth the wait.

The 20-minute firework display, which was accompanied by music, lighted up the North Reading sky and pierced the usual quiet of a humid July night. 

Last year, the Fourth of July fireworks display, which was the first scheduled in North Reading for years, was cancelled because a major thunderstorm struck moments before the fireworks were set to go off.

This year, it was clear skies as thousands watched from Ipswich River Park on blankets and chairs.
